What I Learned from my Dentist about Living Abundantly

What I Learned from my Dentist about Living Abundantly

Living abundantly can mean SO MANY things!  Some people think it's all about money.  An abundance of money is great - I love the feeling of increasing my financial security and being able to have fun with money!  What abundance in my life do I treasure most?  It is the little, surprising things that are meaningful just to me.  For example, I had a dentist appointment recently, and the dentist asked me what exciting things I have going on in my life.  I figured he really wanted to know, so I told him about a new project my team and I are working on that will include an online course and a coffee table book.  With a smile and some excitement in his voice, he told me I was definitely onto something with my idea and topic, and asked me if I knew that there is a scripture in the Old Testament about the topic I shared with him.  Before I could answer, he looked it up on his phone and read it to me. Not only that, he offered an insight that I hadn't thought of that will make our message even more powerful!  He wrote the scripture from Proverbs on a piece of paper for me, and BAM - I sat there with my bright shiny new smile, in awe of what just happened!  I now have a powerful introduction for our online course and book!  For me, that experience was living in the flow of abundance...it was like heaven was reassuring me that I am doing the work I am meant to do here.  We ALL have our own special purpose in life!  Listen and watch for the signs that heaven is sending you.  Then take it a step further - ACT on the thoughts and ideas that come to you.  The more you pay attention and take action, the more your life will begin to fall into place, or into a "flow."  A positive flow.I have definitely noticed big changes in my own life the more I learn and grow and take action.  I have learned to take action even if it feels risky, scary, or different.  I have learned to take action even if others (including those I am close to) do not understand.  Ultimately, I am learning to put my trust in God on deeper levels than I ever knew I was capable of.  As that trust grows and expands, my fear, worry and doubt diminish, and taking action becomes empowering because I know He is on my side.  Fear of what others think about me has been an excuse for me in the past to not take action. When I let go of that fear, I have more experiences like the one at the dentist.  Those experiences are evidence to me that I have what it takes to be what God created me to be and to do what He put me here to do.I practice taking action every day.  You can practice taking action every day too! Here are some simple steps you can practice to begin living your life abundantly and to begin knowing and feeling that God is on your side:1 - Make taking care of yourself spiritually, physically & emotionally a PRIORITY!  Do this first - EVERY DAY.  I promise you that practicing this ONE step will change your life in so many ways. Trust me on this!2 - Practice listening to thoughts and ideas, no matter how random they seem.  Write them down.3 - Choose one thing a day to take action on.  Do it, no matter what.  Let go of excuses.  Just. Make. It. Happen.  This is a simple list.  This is something I practice every day.  If you miss a day...so what?  Practice again the next day!  The moment you quit practicing is the moment you choose to give up on you.  KEEP GOING!  You have great things to do in your life!  You have gifts and talents that are unique to you and there IS a place for you in this world to share them.  As you share what you have to offer, your inner peace increases, your happiness grows and expands, and the drama of the ups and downs will smooth out.  Start today and CHOOSE how you want to show up in your life!  CHOOSE to practice the 3 simple steps I shared with you.  If you do not know where to begin, reach out for guidance and mentoring.  Take an online personal development class, read a book like The Big Leap, reach out to any of us at Jen Poulson Consulting.  We are here to support you in remembering who you are.
